The last temple built at the
Minnanthu
village at Bagan is Tayok Pye. King Narathihapate (1256-1287) was not able to complete the temple as he fled from the Mongol invaders. Tayok Pye actually means " he who fled" in Myanmar. The temple is large and one of the easiest to climb on, allowing a spendid view over the northern Bagan plain. It servers well as an alternative to the watchtower that the government built.
